Discover the world of bees in an activity with social essence

Can Parcala has the “Aula Apícola” where they offer beekeeping workshops and activities to learn more about the world of bees and their pollinating function. The activites are open to companies, entities, the educational community  and anyone interested in spending a good time on the farm. The activity has a duration of 3 hours, is suitable for groups of 12 to 50 people and is carried out only during working days.

Activities at Can Parcala take place outdoors. The farm features a recreation area with a picnic area, a shop, the beekeeping classroom inside the house, the beehives outside and over 10 hectares of land to enjoy the countryside and the mountains with magnificent views of the Maresme coast.

The workshops are mainly practical, based on experimentation and discovery, with values such as responsibility and acceptance of difference. The activities are conducted by professionals with and without intellectual disabilities.

Located in Cabrera de Mar, Can Parcala farm is owned by the Fundación Alsina y Arenas y Baum de Bernis.  Aware of the of the social work carried out by the Fundación el Maresme with people with intellectual disabilities, they offered the farm free of charge in 2013.

Currently, the CEO of Maresme develops ecological activities such as the beekeeping classroom, the production and sale of honey, as well as the maintenance, cleaning and revitalization of the farm. All of these activities fall under the umbrella of social commitment, since they aim to improve the attention and labor insertion of people with intellectual disabilities in El Maresme.
